SEIU VP hits Trump dumping of program keeping undocumented parents of citizens

WASHINGTON—Service Employees Executive Vice President Rocio Saenz  blasted a Trump administration ending of a program that keeps undocumented parents of U.S. citizen children in the country. Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary announced the move.

“It comes to no surprise that President Trump and his administration officially rescinded DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans), an executive immigration action allowed parents of U.S. citizen children who have been living, forming families, working hard, and otherwise contributing, apply for legal work permits and protection from deportation,” he said.

“President Trump continues to turn his back on immigrants and their American families. SEIU members, our families, and our communities will continue to resist these attacks on immigrants,” said Saenz, whose union has a high Latino membership.
