Police Union Leader Blames Politicians & Media For Dallas Retaliation Against Officers

DALLAS—The president of the AFL-CIO’s police officer union blames the politicians and the media for the Dallas shootings this July. Sam Cabral denied that U.S. police officers are “systematically racist.”

Cabral’s comments were in opposition to most national union leaders. The other leaders were expressing sympathy for all involved and promoted dialogue about the conflict between minorities and police.

However, politicians were criticized by the local police union leaders for siding against the police officers. President Obama attempted a less bias approach in suggested the flaws lie within our criminal justice system.

Many union presidents have reacted with shock and support for the officer’s families.
