Clarice Berry

Clarice Berry is the president of the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association, having previously served CPPA as the chair of the legislative committee, auxiliary president, treasurer, second vice president and elementary vice president.

Ms. Berry has been serving as a principal since 1984, when she was selected as the principal of John Fiske Elementary School in Woodlawn. However, Ms. Berry’s time within the Chicago Public School surpasses solely elementary education, for she is a graduate of Chicago’s public elementary and high schools and continued her education a Roosevelt University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Prior to becoming the principal at Fiske Elementary, Ms. Berry taught at Olive Henry Junior College and later became the head teacher of a private, state-funded school for developmentally disabled adolescents. Ms. Berry also participated in the development of the Handbook of the Instructional Program of the Chicago Public Schools, 1981.
