Harrah’s Employment Policies

Harrah’s Entertainment, the owner of the Rio, Caesar’s and Bally’s Casinos and Resorts, is the largest gaming company in the world and the largest corporate interest in Atlantic City. Thousands of gaming employees in Harrah’s Casinos in Atlantic City have, by overwhelming majorities, voted to unionize with the UAW.

However, Harrah’s has refused to bargain with the UAW, has cut employee benefits and has intimidated employees for supporting their union.

AFSA will support these employees by:

• Meeting with management at The Rio to encourage Harrah’s to recognize the UAW as the collective bargaining representative for the gaming employees at Caesar’s and Bally’s, to bargain with the UAW on behalf of these employees, and to cease and desist from any acts of retaliation or intimidation against employees for their union activities; and by

• Refraining from booking any further business with The Rio or other Harrah’s properties until these labor disputes are resolved.
