Hundreds Attend Thirteenth Triennial Constitutional Convention
The Status of Public Education: Vanishing or Vibrant?
July 26-28, 2012
San Juan, Puerto Rico

AFSA delegates, alternates, members and guests from across the country gathered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 26 to July 28 to hear from speakers and engage in workshops designed to equip members with information and resources for coping with today’s most pertinent education reform and union rights issues. Attendees heard from key speakers including Tavis Smiley, Dr. John Jackson from the Schott Foundation, and “Bully” director Lee Hirsch. Sessions included presentations on Common Core Standards, the administrator evaluation process, technology in schools and creating a positive school climate.
