Celebrating Worker Memorial Day

On this year’s Worker Memorial Day, AFSA paused to remember the countless school workers who have lost their lives on the job like Dawn Hochsprung, a school principal who went to work one morning not knowing that day would be her last. She lost her life while protecting the lives of others.

No class of worker is immune from the loss of life on the job. Whether a police officer, a nurse, a mine worker, office or school worker, we face the same challenges. We must continue fighting and advocating for federal policy that helps to ensure we are faced with safe working conditions as we head to work each day.
