AFSA Endorses the National Resolution on High-Stakes Testing

Today, AFSA proudly endorsed the National Resolution on High-Stakes Testing, which currently has the support of almost 400 education organizations nationwide. Over-emphasis on standardized testing has left behind much of our youth, including low-income students, ethnic and racial minorities, disabled students, and students who are learning English as a second language. To truly leave no child behind, policy must be revamped to promote multiple forms of evidence of students learning and school quality in accountability, and not mandate any fixed role for the use of student test scores in evaluating educators.
